There are many character education curriculum out there and they all offer different ways to bring these life skills to your classroom.  What’s unique about SchoolToolsTV is that we do the work for you in a fun and interactive way that takes only a minute a day.  Imagine starting each school day talking about things like how to make a good friend, how to stay motivated in the classroom, how to be a team player, or how to keep your self-esteem high instead of spending precious time trying to get your class focused and ready to learn.  As of October 1, 2010, I will start charging $5 per month per classroom to use the site.  School wide licenses will be $500 for 11-20 classes, $1,000 for 21-30 classes and so on.  I will still make the videos available on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/rustymay30

SchoolToolsTV Goals - (Click for a description)

SchoolToolsTV will help create a common language for success in and out of the classroom and all you have to do is turn it on. Each day of the week is focused on a different topic like: Motivation Monday; Teamwork Tuesday, Wellness Wednesday, Thoughtful Thursday and Friendship Friday. Each week we focus on a new Bully Byte and Manners Motto to motivate students to stand up for themselves and communicate in a positive, assertive and polite way which is key to solving problems.

Purpose

SchoolToolsTV was created to meet the school wide component of the Response To Intervention (RTI) behavioral modification pyramid. Issues like manners, bullying, communication, problem solving, exercise, resiliency, respect, safety and self-discovery have never been so fun or easy to incorporate into your busy schedule. Please watch the videos which are located on the 'Videos' page and show a few to your class. It won't be long before they'll be asking for it and your team will have a fresh new way to start each day.
Topics

Topics covered by the show include character, basic social skills, social emotional literacy/learning (SEL), behavior, school safety, bullying, recognizing the signs of bullying, learning to deal with the bully, working with the victims of bullying, building self esteem, becoming more resilient, classroom management, manners, becoming more self aware, creating a positive school climate, increasing student motivation, building teamwork in the classroom, encouraging daily exercise, developing good nutritional habits and so much more.
